It's almost time to begin a new academic year. And with it comes Inside UW-Madison, a new way for employees to receive news and information.

All faculty, classified and academic staff, graduate assistants and employees of key campus affiliates will receive Inside UW-Madison by email every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Learn more about receiving it, contributing information, advertising options or submitting your feedback.

Bus pass distribution continues

Update: The location has changed for this week's free employee bus pass distribution. Pick up your bus pass at the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR) atrium/lobby near the School of Nursing.  Get complete details.

Increased contributions to insurance, retirement

State Group Health Insurance premiums and contributions to the Wisconsin Retirement System will increase with the check payable Aug. 25 for classified employees (paid biweekly) and Sept. 1 for unclassified employees (paid monthly). Visit the Office of Human Resources Payroll and Benefits Services for more information.

This fall, Professor Joe Elder enters his 50th year of teaching at UW. To honor him, the Center for South Asia is organizing a multimedia celebration of his career, encouraging campus to post photos, share memories and tweet to the hashtag #Elder50.


Dawn Crim moving to School of Education

Dawn Crim has been named associate dean for external relations in the School of Education. Crim previously worked in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for University Relations, where she was a special assistant on community relations issues.
