Though it’s not over yet, this winter has been one of the mildest in recent memory. Do you enjoy a break from freezing temperatures and mountains of snow? Or has it impacted your outdoor activities? Share your thoughts.

I love it!
Under normal circumstances, I would really be missing the snow. There is a haunting beauty in winter that can’t be equaled. My camera has been mostly idle this season.
On a positive note, my husband and I are finishing our log cabin and the weather has been more than cooperative. For that I am truly grateful.
Like they say. Don’t like the weather? Stick around. It’ll change. Happy Spring!
The huge snowbanks of the past couple years have led to prolific digging and fort making by my now 11-year old son and his friends, and I have watched them with great joy. So for me this winter and the lack of snow have been a great disappointment. But I’m glad my son has the memories of past snow-filled winters.
We love it! It is better than moving south! Nice to not be paying the guy to plow our driveway every other week. Hope he isn’t starving to death! We can’t wait for spring, but this will do until it comes.
The lack of snow has been very disappointing for those of us that love to X-C ski. Usually I’d have been out to Blue Mounds dozens of times by now, but so far I have been skiing fewer than a dozen times. Very sad. The beauty of winter is something that I never take for granted.
I like snow; it is not only beautiful, it is natural and a necessary part of the season. Winter is time for plants to rest–not happening. Freezing weather kills a lot of insects–again, not happening.
So for me this is unnatural. Scary. Global warming. If the weather patterns are this disrupted, what next? If the winter is too warm, what will summer (which is already way too hot & humid) be like? Enjoy the mild weather now? what’s it gonna cost later? (No such thing as a free lunch) How is this impacting other parts of the country & the world?
I miss the snow also because no snow, no XC ski. But as was commented earlier, ‘Don’t like the weather, don’t worry it will change’. I’m still hoping for 3 to 6 inches!
It has been terrible for XC skiing and all other outdoor winter activities except alpine skiing on the manmade stuff. On the other hand, I have done more biking this winter than I can ever remember.
This winter has been great for bicycling…mostly all you have to prepare for is the occasional chilly day but little to no snow or ice to worry about. Didn’t really feel like winter!
I’m liking my gas bill
I’m glad nothing I planned to go to has been ‘snowed out’.
I am just as happy not to have any big snows. But if it means we have to get a ton of rain to have enough water for growing, well I would rather have a bunch of small snows, the melt on contact kind even. So should we anticipate heavy spring rains?
A winter forest blanketed with snow is my absolute favorite place to play outside, bar none.
North Atlantic oscillation: 1. Snow: 0. Bummer…

The older I get, the less I like winter. I had shoulder surgery in December. So this mild winter has been great. Just cleaning snow off my car after work was difficult for a few weeks. I like living in Madison. I’m thankful that we don’t have major weather problems like other parts of the country/world, except for an occasional tornado or blizzard. I’ve thought about moving to somewhere warmer, but I don’t want to be that far away from the grandkids. Three years until retiring, maybe move then?!?!
I don’t like it. It’s a sign of global warming which will cause many problems.
I wish there was way more snow this Winter because I just got a new Jeep Wrangler last summer and I was looking forward to ripping up the snow covered roads. Hopefully we’ll get lots of mud this Spring.
This is THE best winter yet. Wish we could say that every year!!!
