Soundscape recreated

Among his many qualities, the pioneering wildlife ecologist Aldo Leopold (above) was a meticulous taker of field notes. Using those notes, Stan Temple, emeritus professor of wildlife ecology, and Christopher Bocast, a Nelson Institute graduate student and acoustic ecologist, recreated a "soundscape" from around Leopold's Sauk County shack in Depression-era Wisconsin.

Flu shot clinics underway

Employee flu shot clinics will be held at more than a dozen locations on and off campus through Nov. 1. The first clinic for students will be held on Friday, Sept. 28, at the SERF. Students can drop in without an appointment and get their seasonal flu shot.
